Strategic Options Review
The independent review before a major decision.
An independent, senior assessment of the decision in front of a founder led company, made before the decision is taken.
A founder led company at a turning point rarely lacks opinion. It lacks an independent one. The Strategic Options Review supplies it.
The business is taken apart and the assumptions underneath the decision are tested. The genuine options are set out plainly, each with its consequence, and a clear recommendation is made on the one most worth pursuing. The work is principal led from first conversation to final paper.
What the review delivers
- A board grade options paper, written to be read by a founder, a board, and a shareholder group alike.
- The real options on the table, tested against the assumptions they each depend on.
- A clear recommendation, with the reasoning held in plain view rather than hidden behind process.
- A decision examined before it is made, not explained after it has played out.
How it runs
The review takes three to five weeks. It begins with a direct conversation about the decision, moves through a structured examination of the business and its options, and closes with the paper and a recommendation delivered in person.
Engagement
A fixed fee engagement, from $35,000 + GST. Scope and fee are confirmed before any work begins. The number of reviews taken on at any time is deliberately small.
Where the review leads
A review stands on its own. Where it points to a larger piece of work, that work follows to the same standard: exit and transaction readiness, capital readiness, capital raising support, governance and shareholder alignment, or ongoing strategic advisory. Capital raising is one possible outcome of a review. It is never the starting point.
